Every foil, every tube, every snip of hair
Salons make a lot of rubbish. Foils, colour tubes, bottles, chemicals and bags of hair have traditionally all gone straight to the tip. At Winter & Co. we're members of Sustainable Salons, Australia's leading salon recycling program. That means almost everything left over after your appointment is collected, sorted and given a second life.

where it allEnds up
Hair
Hair clippings are packed into hair booms, which soak up oil and help clean up spills.
Ponytails
Plaited ponytails 20cm or longer, cut in the salon, are sent with Sustainable Salons to be made into wigs for people experiencing hair loss.
Foils and colour tubes
Aluminium foils and empty colour tubes are recycled as metal instead of going to landfill.
Plastics
Product bottles, tubs and packaging are recycled so the plastic stays in circulation.
Chemicals
Leftover colour and chemicals are collected and handled properly, never tipped down the drain.
Paper and more
Paper, razors, disposables, old tools and e-waste are all collected and sorted for recycling or safe disposal.
